Extending from an altitude of 1,100 to 1,700 metres in the Vallée de Belleville, Méribel is the ideal base from which to explore the over 600 km of pistes of les 3 Vallées, the world’s largest ski area.
The Resort
Méribel Village at 1,400 metres altitude, a five minute drive from central Méribel, is a quiet traditional village perfect for a family holiday with a supermarket, bakery and ski shop. Most chalets are reached within minutes by foot to the Golf chairlift which provides direct access to the Alitport area of Méribel. Skiing down at the end of the day via the Lapin piste and stopping off for an apéro en route tops off a fabulous day of skiing.
Just outside Méribel Village is the pretty hamlet of le Raffort where stunning properties have easy access to the ski-in ski-out gondola of the Raffort piste.
For more action stay at Meribel Central 1450 metres where, la Chaudanne is the central meeting point for ski schools and access to Courchevel via the Saulire express, Mottaret via Tougnete 1 telecabin and Legends chairlift and Altiport via Rhodos telecabin.
Within a ten minute walk of central Méribel is Méribel Morel and le Plateau where you will find many luxury properties, shops and restaurants. Further up the road to the Altiport, which can be accessed by chairlift, you will come to le Rond Point, an area with a good selection of apartments and home to the famous après-ski bar le Rond Point, universally known as ‘Ronnies’.
Continuing along the Route de Belvedre, the top of the Méribel village is where luxury properties are located, including the luxurious Chalet Valentine and ski-in ski-out Eleanore and Eglantine.
Above at 1,700 metres is Méribel-Mottaret which gives the quickest access to Courchevel valley with many properties being ski-in, ski-out options or within close proximity to the piste.
Despite all the expansion Méribel retains its authentic charm and blends harmoniously with the stunning natural environment which surrounds it. As well as being one of France’s most popular ski ski resorts, it is a year round destination for a wide range of activities including golf, horse riding, tennis, hiking, and mountain biking.
